The Forest Green Rovers Supporters Club have a strong association with Forest Green Rovers Women and we are keen supporters and advocates of the side.

The Supporters Club Board regret that the football club is not continuing with supporting women’s and girls’ football for the 2026/27 season. We are proud to have been part of their growth and success over the years, providing funding, volunteers and publicity.

We recognise the challenges of funding and the disappointing end of the Hartpury partnership. They left the football club with having to take a fundamental step back for the coming season. The SC Board will work with the Club to explore ways in which this important part of the club can be re-established and relaunched when practically possible. A big thank you to all the players, coaches and support staff for their commitment to the beautiful game. We wish them all well in seeking to continue their interest and careers in football.

FGR Women History

We’ve tried to assemble a plotted history of FGR Women below. There are some gaps and we apologise for that – we will fill them in as soon as we can.

Dizzy Heights

You might think that FGRs Men’s team were the first FGR side to reach the third tier, but they were beaten to it by FGR Women, who achieved the fete in 2015/16, when they played in the National League Southern Premier. In that season FGR Women rubbed shoulders with Brighton & Hove Albion, Tottenham Hotspur, QPR and West Ham United.

During that season FGR Women also recorded their best FA Cup Run, reaching the 2nd round proper.

Cup Success

FGR Women are most successful club in the Gloucestershire County Cup with 5 wins, including most recently the 2022/23 title.

Then: back in the days of black and white FGR Women lifted the Glos County Cup title at Glos FA HQ in Almondsbury.

More recently: FGR Women celebrate in style after regaining the title in 2022/23.

League Finishes

FGR Women have three league titles in their relatively short history. Over the years they have risen as high as the third tier, but more recently have re-established themselves in the 5th tier after a rebuild.

Attendance Records

As far as we know the record home attendance for a home fixture was set in 2021 with 369 fans at The New Lawn as FGR Women defeated Almondsbury in the FA Cup.

FGRSC Player of the Season

In 2021/22 FGR Supporters Club started to award a Supporters Player of The Season. We are sure that a previous award existed before this date but cannot find any details. The winners since restarting the award are:

2021/22 – Hattie Jones; captain and midfield architect, won the award for committed displays, leadership and for playing the game in a positive way, offering leadership and encouragement to her team mates.

2022/23 – Nynka Rucker; attacking dynamo Rucker scored a raft of goals in a busy season where she also added lots of assists. The pacey attacker always looked a danger on the ball and managed to turn the Glos County Cup on its head with two late goals to help FGR to the title.
