Scott Lindsey was FGR’s assistant manager between 2016 and 2019. In July 2019, at Rovers pre-season training camp, Scott learned that his wife, Hayley, had collapsed at home. Scott left Rovers to be closer to home 2 months before Hayley died from kidney cancer in November 2019. Scott has taken on the role of manager of local Kent club, Chatham Town, to be near to home and his 3 daughters. In this interview with Hugo Langton, Scott tells the story of the most momentous game in Rovers’ history so far – the 3-1 win over Tranmere Rovers at Wembley on 14th May 2017, including clips of the action that Scott describes for us.
