April 2022 will forever be a significant moment in the history of Forest Green Rovers, as the little club on top of the hill secured promotion to League 1.
A sold out away end at The Memorial Stadium witnessed FGR hold promotion chasing Bristol Rovers to a 0-0 draw which mathematically guaranteed promotion for the Nailsworth side.
April had started with back to back home wins against Scunthorpe and Mansfield. A home draw with Hartlepool was then followed by FGRs biggest defeat of the season away at Barrow before the fixture in Bristol. The month then finished with defeats away at Swindon and Harrogate.
