Whilst the men’s team will make their longest away trip of the season to Carlisle on Saturday, FGR Women are set to take to The Fully Charged New Lawn for the first time this season in Sunday’s FA Cup clash against Almondsbury Ladies.

FGR Women play in the South West Regional Premier Division which is the fifth tier of the Women’s pyramid. Chris Hicks has overseen three games this season as his side have played the early pace setters, facing 3 of the top 4 sides – including most recently mounting a stirring come back from being two goals behind to draw with undefeated Torquay. That momentum will hopefully be key as they head into the FA Cup match in Nailsworth.

On Sunday they will face Almondsbury Ladies who make the short trip up the M5. Almondsbury ply their trade in the South West Regional Women’s League – Northern Division where they have taken 1 point from their opening three fixtures.
