Following the announcement that Chris Hicks has decided to stand down as manager of FGR Women the Supporters Club would like to thank him for his contribution to the Women’s team over the last 18 months.
In his first season in charge Hicks oversaw 5 wins from 5 before the season was curtailed by covid. Subsequently FGR were moved up to the SWWFL Premier Division for the current campaign, where the team has established itself as a competitive side with a growing reputation and acknowledgement of their enjoyable football style.
During that period Chris Hicks, who has developed a strong rapport with fans, also saw the club progress to the final qualifying round of the FA Cup. The Cup run included a home win over Almondsbury at The New Lawn in front of several hundred supporters and an away fixture at the Silverlake Stadium, again in front of a large crowd.
We thank Chris for his efforts and achievements during his spell as Manager of FGR Women and wish him the best for the future.
