The Forest Green Rovers Supporters Club are pleased to see the recent announcement that the football club have teamed up with Her Game Too, who promote the inclusion of women and girls in football.
Forest Green Rovers have a family friendly fan base with many women and children amongst supporters on a matchday and across the globe and this is also reflected in the Supporters Club membership.
FGR have recently incorporated their women’s team into one consolidated structure with the men’s team and there are plans to create a girls academy. FGR Women also played their recent FA Cup match against Almondsbury at The Fully Charged New Lawn, winning 5-1, where Her Game Too were present.
Hannah Dingley has a prominent role within the club as Academy Manager, the first women to hold the role with in the Football League. FGR also openly welcomed applications from women within the game for the Manager role at the end of last season, whilst a significant number of women make up the clubs staff.
Recognising that FGR has already made significant steps in recognising and promoting the value of women and equality within the game, we are still pleased to see the clubs commitment to Her Game Too.
You can find out more about the Her Game Too campaign through their website www.hergametoo.co.uk where you can also report any sexism or harassment that you witness or experience.
