Forest Green Rovers striker Matty Stevens, 23, has been voted the Forest Green Rovers Supporters Club Player of the Month for August 2021 in a poll voted for by fans.
The forward, like Forest Green Rovers, had a strong start to the season scoring 5 goals in 6 appearances during August having been entrusted by manager Rob Edwards to lead the attack with Jamille Matt. Alongside FGRs top scorer from last season, Matt, Stevens struck up the deadliest partnership in the Football League 92 during August as FGR climbed to the top of the League 2 table.
The former amateur boxing champion signed for Forest Green Rovers in July 2019 and established himself a popular figure amongst FGR fans for his high work rate. The recognition from Rovers Supporters comes after he was also voted as the EFL2 Player of The Month for August, in what was a double for FGR as Edwards also took home the Manager of the Month award.
