Rovers games against Mansfield, Colchester and now Exeter & Newport have been postponed due to positive Covid tests in the Rovers camp and the Exeter squad. Exeter has now been rescheduled for 4th Jan. The Colchester game has suffered 2 postponements – international call-ups caused a postponement in November. New dates for the Mansfield, Colchester & Newport fixtures haven’t yet been set. The 8th of January may be a possible free date after Rovers away game at Port Vale was delayed due to Vale’s FA Cup progress.
Manny Monthe, who moved to Tranmere from FGR in 2018, has been given a 7 match ban and a £1,200 fine when the FA found him guilty of homophobic abuse that occurred in the 9th minute of Rovers game against Tranmere in May 2021. Monthe, who has also been ordered to complete a mandatory education programme, has posted a statement saying he still categorically denies using the abusive and insulting language that the FA found that he did use.
The Cameroonian player moved from Tranmere to Walsall last summer and has played 23 games for the Saddlers.
