Forest Green Rovers Supporters Club are delighted to announce that the Rovers Raffle draw for the fixture with Exeter on 24 September will be dedicated to the FGR Youth U16 Girls team, with all proceeds being given to the side.

With FGR vs Exeter being televised the game will kick off at 12.30 and supporters of both sides have an excellent opportunity to watch the FGR Youth U16 Girls side in action as they will play on the school pitch next to the stadium at 10am in a fixture against Randwick Youth U15 Wasps Boys.

The FGR Youth U16 Girls has been newly formed for the 2022/23 season and acts as in important step in the pathway to the Women’s first team. It follows on from the recent announcement that FGR had secured a licence to operate an Emerging Talent Centre for Girls in the region.

FGR Youth U16 Girls side play in the Severn Valley Youth Football League Boys U15 league and started their season with a 3-3 draw with Wotton Rovers Youth U15 Jaguars.

In recent seasons FGR have brought many young talented players into the Women’s squad, with the likes of Rucker and Boyd scoring in the senior teams opening fixture of this season against Liskeard last week. The U16 team will further help FGRs development of young talent in the area.

You can show your support for FGR Youth U16 Girls by coming along and cheering them on from 10am or by purchasing Rovers Raffle tickets on Saturday. Tickets will be on sale during the FGR Youth U16 Girls fixture and around the ground up until kick off in the men’s fixture with Exeter.

The FGR Supporters Club board recently met with Hannah Dingley, FGR Academy Manager, who gave an update on the exciting progress being made in Girls and Womens football at FGR. Our decision to dedicate proceeds from the raffle on 24 September to the U16 Girls side is a continuation of our long standing support for FGR Women.
