Jamille has a 2:1 degree in psychology so don’t be surprised if he asks you about your childhood and your relationship with your Mother. He says the degree helps him stay grounded. By coincidence 2:1 was the score when Matt scored Newport’s first goal in their 2016 win against Premier League Leicester in the FA Cup.

Position – Wing Back.

Corey represented Ireland at u19 level. He featured in 43 out of 46 league games for Rochdale in 2021/22 and can play on either side of the backline

Ben Stevenson

Before coming to Rovers, Ben played almost 100 times for Colchester, having joined the U’s from Wolves after a loan spell.

 

Dom Bernard

Dom played for Gloucestershire Schools and has also represented the Republic of Ireland at U17 & U18 levels.  He is famous for his short shorts!

Josh March

Josh went on loan to Harrogate during the 20/21 season and made 14 appearances for them (10 starts) scoring 4 goals.  His loan spell was brought to a premature end by a knee injury following a collision with an opposition goalkeeper.

Reece Brown

In his first spell at FGR (2017-2019) Reece made 96 appearances and scored 14 goals. He has played for England U20s.

Connor Wickham

Date & Place of birth – 31 March 1993, Hereford.

Connor’s father was in the army so although born in Hereford he went to school in Colchester.

He made his debut for Ipswich at 16 years 11 days – Ipswich’s youngest ever player.

Connor scored the winning goal in the Final of European Championship for England U/17s in 2010. He played for England U/21s as well. He is also eligible to play for N Ireland through his father.

He scored the winning goal for Palace against Watford in the 2016 FA Cup Semi-final at Wembley and had a goal controversially ruled out in the Cup Final against Manchester United.

Armani Little

Armani made 38 appearances for the Gulls over the course of his third and final campaign with the club, boasting an impressive 15 goals and 10 assists - a feat bettered only by three players in the division

Olly Casey

Olly came through the Leeds Academy and played once for them in the Championship, so he was awarded a EFL Championship 2019/20 winners medal. He played twice more for Leeds in Cup competitions before joining Blackpool in June 21 but is yet to make his first team debut for them

Luke McGee

6ft 4in Luke made 55 appearances for Portsmouth after being recruited from Spurs by the then Pompey boss Kenny Jacket in 2017.

 

Matty Stevens

Matty ended his boxing career undefeated at the age of 15 having won the ABAE Schools national title in 2011 and the GB Schoolboy 3 Nations title in 2011 and 2012.  Don't mess with Matty!  He became Barnet's youngest ever player when he appeared for them aged 16.

Udoka Godwin-Malife

Udoka's first professional contract was with FGR in 2019.  After a brief loan spell at Eastleigh in early 2020, 'Dokes' has now become a regular in the side and signed a new 2 year deal with Rovers in the summer of 2021.

Bailly Cargill

Bailly appeared 68 times for MK Dons in both League 1 and League 2 after signing for them in 2018.  Born in Winchester, Bailly used to be season ticket holder at Southampton.  In 2014 Bailly was part of the England u-20 squad and made a dream debut for the side against Canada by scoring.

 

Jordan Moore-Taylor

Jordan came through the academy at Exeter and played for the Grecians between 2012 and 2018 before following his former manager, Paul Tisdall, to MK Dons.  Injury blighted the latter part of his 2019/20 season and he was one of nine players released by the Dons in 2020, which is when he made the move to Rovers.

Lewis joined Rovers along with 2 other goalkeepers, Robert Sanchez (now Brighton's stopper) & James Montgomery in 2018, Rovers first EFL season.  Lewis's 2 saves in the Carabao Cup penalty shoot-out against Bristol City will live long in the memory of Rovers fans!

Boyes signed a 3-year contract with Sheff Utd in June 22. He was named in the National League Team of the Season 21/22 and played for Solihull Moors in the National League Play off Final 2022.

Local lad Finley made his FGR debut coming on as a substitute in Papa John’s Trophy game against West Bromwich Albion U/21's aged just 15 on 6 Oct 20.

Finley was an FGR Ambassador at his primary school and has been part of the FGR academy since grassroots level - and becomes the first player developed in the academy from the Stroud District to sign a professional contract. The Bell family are season-ticket holders at the club, with Finley's younger brother also part of the academy
